What are Shirataki Noodles?
Shirataki noodles come from the root of the Konjac plant grown in Japan and China. They are thin, low carb, translucent traditional Japanese noodles that are composed of a dietary fiber called glucomannan. They contain very few calories and carbohydrates. Best of all, the Shirataki noodles take on the flavor of any sauce or spice that you combine them with and are a great addition to your meals.
Benefits Of Eating Shirataki Noodles
Shirataki noodles slow digestion and prolong the sensation of fullness and are an essential part of any weight loss program. Replacing one meal per day with the noodles will dramatically lower your total calorie consumption.
Drain the package and rinse thoroughly in a strainer or colander for about 1 minute. Lightly boil or microwave for 1 minute. Use as you would regular cooked noodles. Starting in the Attack phase, you can combine Shirataki noodles with any Dukan Diet approved foods to make a stir-fry, soup or to mix with a sauce of your choice.
